Did it involve bikini-clad girls with telephones?

Was it for life insurance?

Is that blanket as effective as a mute button? Then again, that TV may not have one.

I am quick to change the channel on commercials I don’t like. There are more of those than commercials I like.

I have been watching The Lone Ranger reruns and in every episode and every break, they show the same commercial!

I find commercial breaks a great opportunity to get some exercise and/or to do housework.

I have been known to hit the “mute” button. Back in the days before remotes and recording, I often used the commercial breaks to wash the dishes. The commercials even then were so much louder than the programmes that you knew when to dash back to the set.

These days what annoys me is that a given programme or timeslot runs the same adverts in the same order for weeks. Nearly went mad this Christmas, even with recorded viewing.

Commercial breaks are so long now that I forget what the show was about. I guess it doesn’t matter. TV is just another drug.

I bet it was the one where football player Iggy was celebrating getting cold cuts.

In the “old days” there were fewer and shorter commercials. Today’s obnoxious non stop commercials are the main reason I cancelled TV nearly 4 years ago.

You’ve never had one. Yeast infection will keep a lady feeling like death.

Much nicer now we can record stuff and skip the ads. Nowadays, about the only thing that I watch as it’s aired is Dr Who and that’s on BBC here so there are no commercial breaks.

We can’t stand informercials too!

I sometimes put the mute on or change channels for a couple of minutes until the programme I’m watching comes back on.

Sorry you wasted so much of your time pretending to be my friend. I really didn’t read it since I really don’t know you and all I had to do was the read the first sentence to know that you were just trolling. Now, show some kindness and more tolerance and your posts may be worth reading. Give it up; if you don’t wish to read through posts that aren’t meant for you to begin with, then DON’T.

before the mute button, my grandmother woujld close her eyes and stick her fingers in her ears when she didn’t want to see or hear a commercial, so this was a riot to me!
