Girl: What's with Mr. Spaetzle?
Frazz: He threw out his back.
Girl: Well, that wasn't very bright.
Frazz: Hey, hey.
Girl: He should have tested the new one before he threw out the old one.
Hang on, it’s coming. 3D printers have gone biological. The Geeks have successfully installed an artificial throat. Work on growing organs from stem cells is progressing. Now, they’re harvesting stem cells from ordinary tissue. Progress is progressing…
Car, aircraft parts and recently, a functional copy of a .45 automatic pistol. Except for the springs and screws, all 3D printed. However, it took ~ $1 million worth of hardware, plus the software (not cheap) plus another full 40 hours of skilled gunsmithing to finish the job. The 3d gun stuff won’t be in someone’s garage for a while yet.

It is a misnomer that you throw out your back. Your back decides to throw itself out!
