The way I learned this strip took place in Canada was from one talking about them going to “London”. Until then I was unaware of there being any others than England’s. Also the kids saying “grade 2” instead of 2nd grade was odd.
FBorFW’s website is still down. I like to read this strip there as I enjoy the comments & notes Lynn adds to some strips. At least I can read it here while the website is being fixed!
I suspect that the reason the kids were left behind was that the grands and Elly knew there would be tears, and didn’t want the kids to see them all crying.-I’m kind of surprised at the tears, though I thought the grands disapproved of everything Elly did, and I figured she would be relieved that they were finally going home.
Wow — I hit a nerve I didn’t realise existed. Sorry, everyone, if what I said about the two Vancouvers (from my innocent perch in South Australia) seemed somehow offensive. I knew the history, but didn’t realise there was still some “feud” about it. I promise you, a suggestion that someone “get over” something, especially said “with the greatest respect”, was perhaps a little impatient, but not intended to get so many people upset! Mea culpa!

You are rude. I saw NOTHING in Templo’s post to warrant your vitriol.
