For those that missed ’em, no Lynn’s Notes for today; but, there was one yesterday and Wednesday.Just letting you know the FBORFW server problem has been fixed, and the website is back online, after being down for 3 days.
Years ago my uncle had a very long ‘honey do’ list, most of it electrical (he was union electrician). She finally gave up called out to the local union hall and asked for someone off the books (laid off wanting work). The kid got everything done on my uncles to do list, but at a cost. Almost 2 weeks wages went into the hired electrician’s pocket. It was the last time my uncle ever put off my aunt’s honey do lists.
You can never go wrong spending money on the place you where you live. We aren’t animals! Just go and overcharge a few of your patients untill you make it up.
Dental care is privatized in Canada, as is veterinary card.I believe Grandpa Jim is liable due to the Pottery Barn Law: “You break it, you bought it”. However, the remarks from you and Rebel Strike selling the Pattersons into the Arab slave trade were disgusting. Being deployed to the Middle East and Africa, it sickens me to see that odious practice still going on. This is a family strip. Vulgarisms such as slavery, homosexuality and pedophilia have no place in FBOFW. Case closed.

Sounds like it was the only way she’d be able to get John to agree to do some repairs.

Not necessarily a bad thing if the price was right for the extra job, John. For a few bucks, you get your Saturdays back by NOT having to DIY it.

Bet he now regrets putting off doing those jobs himself.

The problem with any project are the “MIGHT AS WELL” or the “WHILE WE”RE AT IT" things that come up.

Why did she not get her dad to do at least some of that list? Him being bored was what caused the ceiling problem in the first place.

I agree that it was a good decision. He was there and most likely did a much better job than dear old dad.

Fix the things that need fixing and you wouldn’t be paying a contractor to do it.

Interesting shift in attitudes about household money decisions these days: “My checkbook” vs. “Our checkbook” would raise an eyebrow nowadays.
