Where in the world do you send a singing telegram — or any kind of telegram — these days? Western Union stopped sending them years ago! WU is mostly used to send money now.

There are all sorts of companies in big cities that do it… but it’s usually only within a small area … and pretty expensive.Some send the messengers out in costume…. often very odd or off-the-wall, or even quite suggestive ones… or… well… none, if you catch my drift.

I heard about one woman who got a break-up message via singing telegram…. nice, huh?

However…. in the land of comics, Western Union sends cheery singing messengers to deliver telegrams….just like convicts wear stripes, cats can talk, and people can live for weeks on 6 foot wide islands with one palm tree on them.

And besides THAT…. what does Chesney know?

Also forgot to say thanks for the sweet messages the other day.You know, I was joking about not having paid my dues here!I’ve never felt unwelcome…though I really do appreciate the kind encouragement and invitations.The real reason is just the opposite of what Wet said….she skips other comics to come here and post pictures…But I love to flit from strip to strip being a wise… um….. you know….I seem to be expected to do that too… so sometimes a forum full of pictures and videos just takes too long.

But I’ll try to stop in more, since you guys are all so nice! Thanks again! Enjoy your party … And I hope to see you all over on Ballard Street, too.

Happy bday Dry! Well, It looks like we are broadcasting cat attracting rays across the valley. We have been invaded by 5 more cats.. Well one mama cat we already named “Aunt Watty” and 4 kittens. Barbara had me build a new heated cat house for them. And Chester decided to help me build it.. Well, I built it, but he inspected the work and tested it out.New cat pictures will be forth coming. The mama is mostly white with a splash of tabby on top, 3 of her kittens look like her except for stripey who is a grey tabby.Here is Chester as he “helps” me.

Do Dry and I share a birthday or was hers yesterday?Rory, my current foster kitty, has turned out to be very sweet. She craves attention and thinks I’m her new bff. Her only issue is that she hates other cats. I have 3 so she has to stay in the den with me. We take her to PetCo each weekend but most of the people who see her have at least one other cat. She is going to be hard to adopt out. I brought her home on Nov 30 when we got back from San Diego.

@ Rikkie Tavi’s video post “Cute Cat begging for Fish Treats” from yesterday – oh my goodness!! That ’s EXACTLY what my cat Dabdoob does whenever he wants something! it makes it very difficult to resist him – lol

I almost never post here, but I do read the comments every day, and echo what so many of you have said about this feeling like an extended family, and I love the fact that it is all just caring, special people who share such wonderful stories and pictures. so I’d like to add my “Happy Birthday Dry!” and I guess “Happy Birthday QueenofAmerica!” too!

Reply to Rikkie Tavi: I used to give catnip parties on my patio for all Vivekat’s friends (she was very sociable). Some would snort it, some would eat it, some would roll around on it and one would just sit on the edge of the patio and criticize the others for indulging.
