In Shoeless Joe, the novel that the movie Field of Dreams was based on, the main character, Ray Kinsella, has the opposite problem: his Iowa neighbors and others criticize him for “wasting” good farmland by turning it into a baseball field.
I admit I’m a little like Charlie Brown even though I’m 56 now. I’ll drive by an open field and try visualizing what a baseball diamond with grandstand and bleachers would look like there. The doctors tell me there’s no cure.
Why is no one taking the other possibility into account — that Charlie Brown simply HATES vegetables and would much rather see ANY garden turned into a baseball field because of that, not because of some weird “Field of Dreams” obsession?

See…I’ve always felt that a baseball field would be better served as a garden. A football field would also make an excellent garden.
