If it were a pick AND ROLL, #32 should have rolled to the basket and gotten the ball back. It’s just a pick…and I pretty weak-looking one at that.

I thought the Pick and Roll was the name of the dance Wendy did last year at the St. Fabian’s mixer.

Technically Bitsy if the defender guarding the ball is screened off and the defender guarding 32 doesn’t switch checks then Bacon would drive to the basket – Moon says they are exploiting both options. Hard to resist a nice Bacon Roll.

True, but the text in P2 seems to imply that #32 rolled to the basket after the screen on that particular play.

In all reality, a great discussion of what constitutes a pick and roll , great that Marty was able to reconize one but how many folks in Milford are tuned into the broadcast ?

It is safe to say that Bacon is number 1. Everyone in my family including the dogs agree.

Bacon appears to be losing control of the ball in P1, so isn’t really more of a pick, stop and pick up the ball, and roll?

To add my two cents to the pick and roll discussion, when I read the strip I assumed those were different parts of the game, not one play. The first panel is the start of the game, the second panel is one of Milford’s many successful pick and roll plays.

…I thought Maty’s version of a pick and roll was when he dig that huge klinker out of his booze beezer and flicks it to the floor of the Tinderbox…

That does look like a jail cell. Marty must have gotten a DUI on New Year’s Eve.
