Anybody remember when you had to actually be GOOD to be invited to a bowl game? Now all you have to do is clear a low-set bar for wins and sell enough tickets whether people use them or not (hello, Bahamas Bowl). The bowl season is becoming an NIT-like farce loaded with also-rans.

That’s fine, once the playoff reaches a reasonable size, the other bowls will BE the NIT.
