It is true that sometimes unpleasant things must be done, but surely there are some things that one should never do (obviously torture comes to mind) if you are then going to try to maintain the moral high ground. If you lower yourself to the same tactics as your enemy, how do you differ from your enemy? Or in the big picture, or in the case of National Security, does that matter anymore?
