The neighbors should thank Calvin & Family for the service they provide.

Just……wow.

Mom’s probably going home to have coffee with a shot of Bailey’s.

The elderly couple next door (the other next door):Him: “Dear, I do reckon! All the ruckus obviously means that it’s 7:30am on a weekday mornin’ ! Pass the biscuits, please!”Her: “Yep. Only on weekends, holidays, and durin’ the summer do we have to set our alarms whenever we have to go somewhere on a given day.”

I think I had a few morning like this. Although in the winter it was nice to sit in a warm car instead of freezing my body parts of standing on the street corner.

LOL

If Mom were the violent type, she might heave a ‘scythe’ of relief, although Susie wouldn’t allow any ‘cuts’ while she is getting on the bus.

I’m with Leading Edge- except half a coffee and a whole bottle of Baileys

Man, if I had done that as a kid, not only would I still have still gone to school but I would have spent the day standing up.

If that happened today, some doctor would be giving Calvin lots of mind-numbing drugs.

A straightjacket and ankle bracelets would help.

I was the one responsible to get my own butt to school. If we missed the bus, we were doing chores all day. And may God have mercy if you decided to skip.

You might complain about the noise now, but just hope your hearing doesn’t go, or you might just get that peace you think you want.

I didn’t know that school had started.

The panel where Calvin sees the bus is great. His expression (hair standing on edge) caught my eye first, then I looked up at his Mom. It’s obvious that one of them is happy the school year has begun.

If it wasn’t for Susie, the bus driver would avoid Calvin’s route like the plague.

I love the difference in the reactions of Mom and Calvin when they see the bus coming

I love the way Mom is leaning on the panel divider.

Calvin seems to learn a whole lot more outside the classroom. His parents should “unschool” him.

Calvin’s expression in the next-to-last panel would fit right into“The Exorcist”.

Ok, where is Hobbes (our Hobbes, not Calvin’s)?

Calvin’s Mom: “PHEW!!! THANK GOODNESS that there are only about forty more weeks of this until NEXT Summer begins!!!”

Hobbes takes a sabbatical every year for several weeks during the winter months. Maybe he started a bit earlier this year?

I miss being able to share these comics – I have a friend who had days like these with one of her kids.

This HAS to be in the top 5 all-time best strips for Calvin & Hobbes! Sofa king funny!!!!

I wish there was no dialogue in the last panel. Maybe a split panel of Calvin with his head on the desk at school and mom with head on the table at home. These wordless strips are some of my favorites and show a comic artist at his best visually. Schulz was a master of this and did it quite often.
