Shoutout! It’s a good strip, but Frazz is better!

As long as it’s not Pearls Before Swine, right, Jef?

When I was a kid, I was really good at hiding books around the house or on my person, so I could sneak in reading at any time. It wasn’t until I was out of college that I realized that my mom was probably wise to me, and just choosing not to say anything.

Those with a superior intellect wouldn’t lower themselves to read Big Nate.

Even though Big Nate is a better depiction of a boys life than frazz will ever be.

The Big Nate books (with stories) are better than the comics.

Caulfied didn’t say he was reading Big Nate….just admitted that he was hiding it in his textbook. So, he is reading a book hidden inside Big Nate inside of his textbook. Mrs. Olsen just stopped too soon!

Very amusing, especially as I have Big Nate just following Frazz in my My Comics list.

This is why text books need to be open, flat on the desk.

“Everybody’s OK with” isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement. Especially with Caulfield.

Jef, even if not all of your readers appreciated your Big Nate reference, I certainly did. Many thanks!

Quite an assessment for someone who “just started reading Frazz.” Kind of reminds me of the young man I met in Singapore who had spent six weeks in New York City and proudly announced that he now knew all about the United States of America.

Is Big Nate Caulfield’s idol, or does Caulfield consider him inferior?

Tomielm – I understand your comment about the young man in Singapore, but it was probably the New Yorkers he talked to who convinced him he now knew everything.

Keeping the textbook flat on the desk never stopped me. I would have a book open just under the flap of my math book (until we got to the middle of the book—then I had to wait a few chapters before I could put it on the other side). However this was after I had finished my work. The teacher did catch me eventually, but she was ok with it as long as I was finished and didn’t let anyone else catch me too often.

I came here because i saw this comic in my fb feed and thought it was a nice thing to see one comic give out a “shout out” to another comic. What i found was a bunch of nasty trolls.Ill continue enjoying Frazz on my wall, but i doubt ill look back at this forum again. There’s nothing fun here.

Personally, I like “Big Nate”. Cool semi-hybrid comic here.

So, it’s OK to ignore the current lesson if you’re focused on a good book?
