Back in the 40’s and 50’s, I can remember listening to these guys every Thursday night on CBC radio. The TV show, and ultimately all those appearances on the Ed Sullivan show came much later. They refused to relinquish their Canadian roots however.
Wayne and Shuster continued working together into the 1980s. Johnny Wayne passed away in 1990 and Frank Shuster (whose cousin, Joe Shuster co-created Superman) passed away in 2002. They appeared a record 67 times on Ed Sullivan’s show.
