Sounds like one of the Democrats who think Republicans want everyone to die.

The prices are confusing. A friend of mine went to get a leg brace for his wife, and was given paperwork saying that it would be a little over $1200. When he asked if he could set up payments or something (In between jobs, insurance iffy and not worth arguing with) the woman behind the counter said, “OH! If you’re paying for it yourself, it’ll be $299, please.” The posted prices are always crazy inflated since the insurance companies have long lists of discounts they take.

The only rational solution is to treat oneself. If only the FDA would get out of the way.

Eventually, someone will write a book called “Too Expensive to Live” and it will detail all the craziness we’ve allowed to happen, supporting a wall of Insurance Industry between us and the Medical Industry. We’re rapidly reaching a tipping point where everything will have to break down and doctors will no longer “Be able to afford to practice” since it won’t support the income levels we’ve come to associate with being a doctor. …Horrible to imagine that surgeons might have to drive the same kind of car I do, and no one will be able to make millions of dollars by suing doctors for malpractice, isn’t it?

Right now where I live Blue Cross has decided it doesn’t like what the major hospital and healthcare provider networks are charging so they suddenly decided not to pay a single claim. Without telling the patients. They unilaterally changed everything on them and the formerly required doctors are now the forbidden doctors. I don’t think a single doctor is actually approved now.
