Declawing actually removes part of the animal’s toe, often vets take the first joint. Rather than that, get him a scratching post and teach him to use it. Or indeed get Soft Paws, a kind of cover for the claws.
I declawed and spayed a kitten at about 5-6 months old. The next day, she had climbed our artificial Christmas tree ( like a bottle brush & wire thing) and was laying there all day watching the birds at the feeder out of the bay window. She cam down a couple of times to eat, drink and use th potty box, and right back up he went. It may hurt for a day or two, but sure can’t be too bad if done to a young healthy cat with healing powers. Would never do a cat over about 1 year, tho.
How would you like it if your parents had chopped off half your fingers when you were an infant, just on the theory that you were young and would heal fast?
If you don’t want to deal with claws, or train the cat, DO NOT GET A CAT.

LOL..love it, body armor gauranteed to stop a house cat….unless he’s carrying a flintlock musket…..

I’m glad to see he has the proper armor for his hands as well. That’s always needed when a belly rub goes too far.

Three jokes come to mind when I saw this cartoon.
One is an old Garfield where Jon suits up in all kinds of protective gear to give Garfield a bath.
The other is a George Carlin joke: I gave my cat a bath, it wasn’t too bad, but getting the fur off my tongue was difficult.
And then there is the Farside cartoon of a cat standing in a bathtub, and instead of a shower head, there was a giant tongue hanging down.

Thanks for revealing such an ugly fact about your personality. What goes round, comes round. Best wishes.
