    When the money from your endorsement contracts is way more than your salary, your motivation to win games is not very high.

    Football is the only sport that doesn’t have to pay off the contract if the guy fades out. Saves lots of money so the owner can make bucks blowing up the old stadiums. Greedy, if not wealth, trickles down.

    Tiger Woods, at least, made at least ONE billion dollars from endorsements (although some of those contracts were voided partway through their lives…..) besides winning money playing golf. (Tom Watson, local Kansas City legend, won almost $100,000 for tying for 18th place in the Masters…think about that, $100,000 for EIGHTEENTH bleedin’ place…….for ONE weekend of having a good walk spoiled, as Mark Twain called golf…….) NEVER mind.
