Yes, I admit it, I’m a dog person. Our cat seems to be the exception to the rule. She knows if she comes around me I will treat her the same way I treat the dog. Not mean, just a little too aggressive for her tastes. She leaves me alone and I leave her to the comfort of the rest of the family.
My future MIL asked me if my cats would jump on her. “Only if you sit down,” I told her. But they did that to everyone. I gained a wife, but lost the cats (a poor trade in retrospect).
I once saw our cat creep up to and stare intently at a patch of ground. I came up behind him and he suddenly “punched” the ground and had his leg shoulder deep in a tunnel. Didn’t catch the critter – I think my plodding scared it off.
@steverino : i always let prospective bfs or roomies or friends know right off the bat: the cat {or cats, at times} was here first, & here he/she will stay! if you do not like them, do NOT COME OVER… i figured, if they did not care for cats, eventually i would not care for THEM either; that pretty much always proved to be true!! :D
My bro would come over – he always swore he could not stand cats, but mine have changed that over the years…but that is another story… – & my feisty little Holly would get on his lap. He’d say: “Get this cat off my lap! You know i don’t like ’em!” Well, Holly was a whole 4 lbs & looked like a 9-mo-old, she was so dainty. My hubby said: “Go get that cat!” I replied – to them both: “He’s a big boy! He can get her off his own lap!” Well, inevitably…next thing you know, YUP!, she was curled in a lil ball, & he was petting her as he was talking to us. LOL SO cute!!

Their seventh sense tells them who allergic to them, so they know where to shed…

What sense is it when the cat sits and stares intently at a random spot on a blank wall for hours at a time?

@daDoctah: Catatonic?

Cats also have a “faster” sense of sight than humans, so they can see things that move too fast for our sense.

My father, who did not care for cats, seemed to attract cats to his lap.

Oh. I was thinking that all cats can see dead people.

Well, we can all see dead people, if you really want to. Usually at the morgue or funeral home. Dead people moving around is another thing…
