Well, you shouldn’t have told him to stick it in his ear earlier.

    Edcole1961 another good one!

Perhaps he’s trying to shut out the inane conversation on his spoon side…

Uh oh, I think he’s related to me (there’s a good reason I never go to my Gran’s for Thanksgiving anymore).

This is why he’s not rich. He wasn’t born with it in his mouth.

To see StelBel’s poster go to:

This time it is the eyeballs that are on the purplie side.

I hope Bassetjuice won’t make the same mistake Beetlejuice did at the end of the movie. That shrunken head on a dog body would be too much.

I’ve found a similar human poster, but the url looks suspiciously long to me.

    Good evening, my GoComics friends….

though it’s probably morning, in your time zone, right now…

No matter… it’s always the right time for a poster from StelBel….

like the one in today’s April 9th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”

Just follow the previous links, to see it on Sherpa

    “Bassetjuice!”

    Ooooh….. it’s a little creepy… a little spooky… but a LOT funny.

When it first came out, I wouldn’t go to see it, cos I thought it was going to scare me.

As some of you know, it doesn’t take much!

Then it played a local 2nd-run theater during a “Midnight Film Festival” week…

and I got dragged to see it…

lured, actually, by promises of scary scene warnings, hand-holding, and chocolate.

The only one I ended up needing was the chocolate.

And that had nothing to do with fright…. just… you know… chocolate.

The movie itself was far more funny than scary… and I loved it..

even if I had a slightly warped reaction to Calypso music for a little while.

Once again, the humans tried to copy it….

but they couldn’t recreate its deadpan basset humor, or that light touch of doggy horror…

Without drooping jowls and pointy teeth, they have to resort to macabre makeup and overly antic schtick….

though I will admit they found a lead actor with a very basset-like expression, especially around the eyes.

I, too, had a hard time finding what use the humans made of Stel’s original poster.

They created a totally different one … far too “cute” … for their movie….

which they inexplicably called “Beetlejuice”, in spite of it starring no beetles.

Finally, in a dusty bin of a poster shop, I found this one, folded up and a bit wrinkled… but even the shop owner didn’t know what they used it for.

    Better to go see “Bassetjuice.”

I always thought that Beetlejuice was an artificially created homonym for the distant star Betelgeuse which has been getting press

lately because there has been speculation about it’s demise

The only thing scary about today’s poster is Bassetjuice looks more like a gangster than a freaky monster. Maybe it’s because of the purplie background on the poster. Yeah, that’s it. I’ll bet it makes a certain person scream.

Great poster, again, Stel. This was a fun movie.

Okay, I am now aware that we’re losing Garfield minus Garfield (Yay) and US Acres (Boo) — does anyone know how to get rid of the message?
