Chepe: Pepe, we got T.P.'d by the Tea Party. Pepe: Your point? Chepe: Let's get out from under all this toilet paper! Pepe: Easier said than done, Chepe. Chepe: Oh no! They used triple ply!! Pepe: It is very heavy, but quite absorbent.
I know very little about the party except that the media has convicted them of throwing bricks before an arrest has been made. I know the press would never distort fact or inject opinions.Sensationalism is unknown on our TV screens. My local paper is owned by the Tribune so I know there will not be any opinions till the editorial page. Thank God for statistics so I can see the truth in black and white.
We don’t worry about facts the same way liberals don’t worry about paying for things. And yes I know Bush and the Republicans also mismanaged things. I disagreed with a lot of what they did. Both of the established parties have screwed things up for way too long.
So after 8 years of Bush tax cuts, what’s the deal with being overtaxed?
And what are the benefits of cutting taxes further - will that fix the potholes in our streets, reinforce our crumbling bridges, or keep our teachers from being laid off?
I think “W” may have been T.P.’d too.
I tried googling “GW Bush AND TEA Party”… couldn’t find any references to him.
Then I tried “GW Bush AND Southern Republican Leadership Meeting in Louisiana” … couldn’t find any reference there.
There’s lots of references to former advisers & Mrs Palin, but where’s George? Besides being on the news for wiping his hand on Bill Clinton’s shirt, there hasn’t been much since… not that I’m complaining, but he was for immigration.

George W. Bush proposed a new immigration policy
“President Bush will propose a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws on Wednesday that could give legal status to millions of undocumented workers in the United States, senior administration officials said Tuesday night.
Under this proposal, which effectively amounts to an amnesty program for illegal immigrants with jobs in the United States, an undocumented worker could apply for temporary worker status here for an unspecified number of years, with all the employee benefits, like minimum wage and due process, accorded to those legally employed.
Workers who are approved would be permitted to travel freely between the United States and their home countries, the officials said, and would also be permitted to apply for a green card granting permanent residency in the United States.”

That’s quite appropriate, considering the thickness of the fecal material they spew.

GJ:
We “lefties” would rather eat live rabid rats than admit that “righties” sometimes do or try to do good things.
Strangely enough, after thirty-six years I sometimes catch myself thinking fond thoughts about Nixon.
Today, of course, many of his actions would be considered by way too many people to be left-wing and anti-American.
OH! for the “good old days.”
