    Indeed.

I think this whole site is making me cynical. I’m thinking of taking the rest of the year off.

The lesson is “don’t do any more work than you have to” …

It occurs to me that unless he’s using computer-assisted drawing, filling in all that black was a lot more work than usual.

Of course, with a graphics program it’s just point-and-click (ain’t flood fill great?)…

It’s not black, it is a canvas for my mind…I can imagine it to be anything I want it to be…

After Brewster sits in the darkroom for awhile, we’ll see what develops.

Were it Dr. Mel, it would be a negative image for certain.

Oh Tim, its unemployment on the phone. When was the last time you worked a real job?

Cartoonists work pretty hard - until Garry Trudeau took a vacation, the only way for a cartoonist to do so was to build up a significant backlog of comics - and I believe Tim also does illustrations for a newspaper. Most cartoonists do at least two things. I know one who maintains three comic strips at once, but he’s bloody fast.

It’s only more work if Tim doesn’t have a good sized paint brush in his kit.

At least he built up to this joke.

The inker, colorist, and letterer still have to work. Of course that may be Tim, in which case, did he really get the day off? Maybe he just shut his eyes, and imagined he had taken the day off. Oh well, LOL!!!!

I agree with jtpozenel, that is the best artwork I have ever seen from Tim. Now make it a twofur - next up: “It was a dark and stormy night”

I thought at first Tim was just phoning it in, but the last panel shows he was being honest about it. Hey, if sitting in a dark room is your way of controlling reality, go for it!

The “inking” was easy: black construction paper, with Wite-Out for the spaces.
