The nice thing about the US Debt Default (WHEN not IF anymore) is that AFTER it happens NOBODY will be willing to lend the Government money anymore and Congress will be FORCED to live within it’s means.
We are spending more than we are taking in. Lets cut all legislative salaries in half, do away with expense accounts and cut staffs down to one per legislator. That should save a few dollars.
sigh – i guess ‘we the people’ have allowed ‘the elected leaders’ to do too much for too long without restraint and accountability. so it’s kinda like the inmates running the insane asylum. trying to ‘fix’ it now after a couple hundred years is not going to be easy or well liked by anyone.
Lucky Ziggy! With the “so called” staff cuts in the IRS, why is this jerk bothering poor Ziggy? If he has nothing else to do, he should quit and save the taxpayers, including Ziggy, a few bucks!

According to http://www.usdebtclock.org/
National Debt = $18.1 TrillionUS GDP (earnings) = $17.3 Trillion
Debt is about $300 Billion more than our GDP.
Spending is about $3.6 Trillion per year and rising.
To put it in personal terms, look at it this way.
You owe roughly $54,000 in debt
While you earn about $52,000 per year.
Your yearly expenses total $10,800 per year.leaving a total of $41,000 you are spending on debt per year.
{Multiplier 0.000000003}
What could we do for the people of this country if we had no debt.
Free Healthcare?Free College?Free care for the mentally ill?Energy? Fuel?Lower Taxes?
Would you work on lowering your debt? Let it continue to increase?
