    Funny!

I started around 1978 with an Apple ][ but after a few years and expanding to a somewhat tricked out Apple ][e I moved to a 80286 PC running MSDOS. I’ve been stuck being a Steve Jobs disciple with a variety of Intel PCs ever since, but lately it wouldn’t take much to sway me to Linux or an iMac. Windows 10 can be a serious pain in the a$$ … !

Our designers used to insist on having Macs. After the were a couple of years old and the warranty had expired, if our plant had to shut down power, the Macs would not start. It cost $200 to have the Apple store fix them plus the cost of the new harddrive. What I discovered was that the rodine harddrives used a low torque motor and it didn’t take much dust to slow them down. They wouldn’t get up to speed in the proper amount of time so the machine wouldn’t start. I found that if I took the harddrive and lightly shook it as it was starting, it would start. That soured me on Apple products.

Stepping into the Mac side of the computer center feels like walking into the wrong bathroom; It’s mysteriously different and I’m not supposed to be there.
