Saleswoman: National tax return week is over! We can now focus on finding a new place to put our money that will help us avoid the blunders of the past! It's national "buy a new handbag week"! Assistant: This one has 17 compartments! It will take you so long to find your wallet your spending will slow way down!

I am SO GLAD that I are a male. 17 compartments?
And besides, I have YET to find any purse that looks good on a woman. (Or a guy … like the “European shoulder bag” thingy on the Geico sap).

I love handbags. But I’ve never seen (nor would I want) one with 17 compartments! Four is my limit! lol

My mother complained a lot about how she could never find anything in her purse, so she got a bag with probably 17 compartments in it. Now she says that she can’t remember which compartment the thing she’s looking for is in. I think the key is to not carry too much stuff (which is hard with children).

Thank you Lord for giving men four pockets. Does this wallet make my rump look fat?

While I don’t carry one, purses are useful; you have a place to hold your wallet, checkbook, cellphone, sunglasses and all the stuff your husband/boyfriend asks you to hold for him.
Don’t be so smug, gentlemen.

When my mother passed away she had 30= handbags. My father andI donated them to helpling hands. While there women came in and literly went hog wild over the bags and they had not been officially put out for sale. LOL Go A purse or handbag is a woman’s personality. I says soemthing about you. happy national by a new handbag day!!

She can’t organize her photos, her desk, her refrigerator… why would anyone expect that she could keep such a simple thing as her purse organized?

@NE1956 said, “I are…” Is that a reference to a certain baboon? :D

Even my knitting circle store is trying to sell me bags with hundreds of compartments. I’m still using the same purse I downsized into 8 years ago and I still get compliments on it. Learned my lesson carrying those big bags when I was a student – one shoulder is still higher than the other. Now the bag weighs less than 10 lbs and the strap goes across my chest. More comfortable, healthy and attractive.

I’ve been using the same billfold for around 20 years. It doesn’t look like much, but it’s in my pocket most of the time. I feel sorry for women.

FUNNYFAN Ahem. How many times have my pockets been stuffed by my lady’s stuff. Just because my suit has pockets doesn’t mean I want to break the lines by putting stuff in them.

I have a backpack with 1 (one) pocket. It has a loop on the bottom to attach securely to the back of my bike. Getting rid of your car saves at least $400/mo.

Guess why I periodically change to a new handbag? They (gasp!) wear out! Even leather does! sooner or later, and it might even be much, much later…. Even if you don’t care how ugly it gets to look, when it develops holes that things could fall out of, it’s time.
So now and then, when I’d see a handbag on sale that I liked, I would buy it, even tho I didn’t need one at the time, and I would store it away somewhere. Then whenever it was time to change to a new one, I had one ready. So I wasn’t pressured into overspending to get one, or having to make do with one I didn’t really like.
I need considerably less than 17 compartments, but considerably more than 2. So if the purse doesn’t have enough compartments to suit me, and it usually doesn’t, I add little lightweight cosmetics bags.
After decades of perfecting my handbag techniques, I feel quite at ease with what I have worked out…

It was brave (or reckless) of the over-excited sales sidekick to suggest that spending should slow down. But it’s true.
I’m still trying to get my mind around the concept of “downsizing” to a handbag that weighs “less than 10 lbs” (thanks lindz) and yet still “get compliments” on it. This is not a world I live in. I kinda doubt I’ve ever even glimpsed it.
