Mom: "Would you care for a snack, Susie?" Susie: "Um, ok. Thank you" Calvin: "Well? What have you got to say for yourself?" Hobbes: "When one entertains female friends, one should try not to look quite as seedy as certain unnamed parties habitually do" Calvin: "Who's entertaining?! Who's a female friend? Who looks seedy?!" Hobbes: "A spotted tie is just the thing when you're wearing stripes! Tigers have a natural flair for casual chic!" Calvin: "I can't believe this! Why didn't you kill her when she came in the door?!" Hobbes: "By the way, if you had made proper introductions, we might have smooched her hand" Calvin: "Here, let me adjust the narrow end of your tie about eight inches"

Sometimes I wonder whether Calvin seriously wants Susie dead. He tried to buy deadly weaponry to use against her once.

I just have to wonder if Suzie is listening to Calvin talking to Hobbs. Can she also hear Hobbs’ response? I also thing I know Calvin’s last name — Bates. At one point I believe his mother buys a motel.
