It is my belief that the residents are fully aware of what is going on, & actually set up the whole scenario to test the true motives of their “captives”. I believe they have been watching from a distance & out of sight the whole time.
@Dean, Tarzan is only friendly with the specific “great ape” species he grew up with, and the small primates. Anything close to a gorilla he has typically killed on sight.
In the King’s chamber, the Queen says, “King Honey, I think I heard something downstairs.” to which the King replies, “Nah, it’s just your imagination. Go back to sleep.”.
The traditional courting ritual of the giant ape at play here. Naturally Tarzan rejects the over-sized hairy beast and shows it the “door” via several deep knife stabs! :)> JeezGiveTheApeABreakAGowa!!
