Our local branch kept dropping tellers and insisting that people use the ATM. They are now closing – and taking the ATM with them. Customer service doesn’t exist any more.
I wonder if an ATM can handle the act of someone JOINING the financial institution which the ATM is a part of? If it can be done, those of us already using a particular financial institution miss out on the pleasure of overhearing someone talking to a teller about joining. We would turn to the person next in line behind us, or move up to the person ahead of us, and say, in a low tone with pleasure, “Someone’s joining; isn’t that wonderful?”

I imagine in a few years it will just be IBM Watsons everywhere, and a very long line at the unemployment office.

I’ve never met a robot I didn’t like, except the one in my car that keeps telling me that a door is not a door but that it is a jar.

The ATMs and web pages have more information and authority than bank employees.

Had the GPS navigator get very annoyed and snotty when we didn’t proceed forward to the next light, immediately. Bossy voice.
