What’s Andy planning to do with the ten pounds? Crush the spider with it, I suppose.

Andy’s probably gonna use the £10 to buy a pint at the pub, Vista Bill. While he’s there, Flo will have tea with the spider discussing her problems with Andy. Then the spider will say it will give give Andy a venemous bite and leave Flo a happy widow.

I’m a disgrace to my gender, but Andy, get off your fat rump and get the spider. Perhaps Flo will join you at the pub, buying your pints while she tells tails of your daring-do.

Andy, just put the spider back into its little box till you need another ten pounds. And why should Flo fear spiders, she has gotta weigh at least 16 stone.

Knowing that Flo can knock Andy out with one punch, it surprises me that she’d be scared of a spider; one look at Andy when he comes home sloshed has got to be worse.

Flo, just turn on the tap and wash it down the sink, it won’t climb up into your knickers!

My sister used to be like this. When I was a kid, she’d come down from her room and tell me to go up and likk a spider or centipede or she’d tell our parents something nasty about me. I’d go upstairs, make some noise, then come back down and tell her it was safe.

Flo certainly changes her attitude when she needs Andy’s protection.

Andy, knowing that springtime brings an onslaught of insects and arachnids, needs to spray for “bugs” both indoors and outdoors as well, in order to keep them at bay. Ten pounds should more than cover the cost of the needed insecticides, leaving Flo some change.

The look of relief on Flo’s face is touching. Thank God Andy is there to look after Flo!

Once again Andy has to calm Flo down. Andy should get paid for his job, after all Flo gets paid when she goes to work…

Flo! You’re scared? What about the poor little spider? You’re a thousand times bigger than he is. He spends all day getting rid of flies in your house and this is your gratitude? You should be feeding him (a tasty fly) and putting him in a jar and taking him outside in the yard to play.

If I were in Flo’s shoes, I would push Andy away from me and tell him ” Over my dead body, NO!”

No poisonous spiders are native in Britain, friends… although I speculate that Andy will be taking his new eight-legged chum down to the pub for a thimbleful of beer later, speculating about the next time they can do Flo out of a tenner…

(Hey: low-maintanence pet, doesn’t need to be taken for walks, no vet bills, hibernates half the year - ideal pet for Andy!)

Sounds like my wife. A spider the size of a gnat is a tarantula to her!
