Money may not buy happiness, but it buys the best food, housing, clothing, recreation, medical care, including anti-depressants if you need them, and education, and if you can have all those things and not be happy, perhaps you don’t deserve happiness. Don’t know who said this first – perhaps Donald Kaul, a newspaper humor columnist from way back – but it has a ring of validity to it.
There was an article about how having more money didn’t make people any happier. Then the last paragraph was a qualifier, that is it was only above a certain amount of money. Below that amount having more money improved peoples quality of life and therefore their happiness.
