Hi Jason, Barb, Dry, Lonewolf, Joe, Bjorn and all Meggsie fans
Ginger, I feel for ya’. When I was your age, the class I was in had to write an essay that had some sort of intrigue in it. I wrote about a spy and to make it just a bit different I called him ‘Jon’ rather than ‘John’. That got me 50 lines after school. The ‘correction’ was a total waste of time but I’ve never forgotten the teacher not listening to me and punishing me instead.
Joe No, there were no special name requirements but the context was that earlier in the day we had a lesson on spelling names. I suppose I was just being a smartalec.
Did you ever have those books where only plain water was needed to colour the pictures? I still have a couple.
Comixavier - Calvin is a delightful daydreamer who is collected by one of my grandsons. He also collects Ginger Meggs who is an amusing, deep-thinking/feeling and philosophical little feller. My grandson and I have had some valued moments extending the stories in Ginger Meggs but Calvin’s influence does not go beyond the strip of the day.
The family tradition of thinking about Meggsie goes back to when my father read Meggsie to me and then we would look at his situations and put ourselves in them, just as I recognised myself as stated in earlier comments today. Great stuff.
Josh 1360 Danae and Curtis I don’t know, but Minnie Peters showed up again in Ginger’s class today. She is his girlfriend and although they are only about 12 years old, they have been boy/girl friend for 89 years. If that doesn’t mean they were meant for each other then nothing ever will!

What Ginger said in the final panel is what Calvin once said when back in the bathtub. His piece of art was Nude Descending a Staircase.

Ginger, you, Danae, and Curtis are meant for each other. It’s a wonder all three of you don’t wind up repeating the the whole school year!
