Since Paige’s last name is Fox, shouldn’t that first one be “The Fox and the Other Fox”? (Yeah, yeah, I get the joke, I just couldn’t resist the conjunction.)
*Pushed is going door-to-door soliciting like Bible Christers do. *.Which is why I started keeping the fire extinguisher by the front door..Now, getting back to the strip, is there any Disney cartoon that involves beating the stuffing out of a younger brother? Because that’s the movie that’s about to get made on Jason…
One does not need to be a bible thumper to find it reasonable to say “pushed/” One does not see the media discussing sexuality in general. Personally, I’d rather see no discussion of any sexuality in the news .. who cares what Bruce Jenner does? Who cares that X is coming up at gay … If it is news that X is gay/lesbian or trans or bi), then that presupposes that not being so is the norm and not just the majority. I say, eave it to the tabloids (I also say, live and let live – whatever blows up your skirt … so don’t accuse me of being biased against any particular group – I just don’t care what group people belong to.
Okay, the joke here is that Jason thinks Paige is ugly, that is all. No hidden context what so ever. People will look for any reason to start an argument.
It’s the fact that legally the relationship outside the bedroom is not allowed to be equal that makes it need to be “pushed.” Just like African Americans had to “push” their way into the same schools and “push” for voting rights. If I could be banned from the hospital room of the person who has shared my bed for decades when someone else in the state would have rights of a spouse just because they present as a couple (common law states) I’d feel the urge to “push.” And because I have seen what it means for a disabled person to have the person they chose have automatic, unquestioned rights with my parents (mother paraplegic with dementia) I cannot stand by and let people be left alone because some state has the gall to say “leave it in the bedroom and don’t bother us with it while we ignore that life happens outside it”
