Of course they use less gas: part of what they burn is oil! Not exactly “environmentally friendly” with that blue smoke! Find something that produces white smoke, Holy Father (the car that ran on holy water was a MUCH better idea!).
If he’s athletic enough to turn handsprings, he probably doesn’t really need the scooter.
A Vespa? Seems like a Vespers would be more appropriate for a friar.
