I sat here for several minutes being depressed. All this snow is really getting to me. The piles of snow next to our walkways are approaching 6’. The piles where my plowguy pushes the snow are near 8’. The roofers came on Monday. They said that the snow on the roof was up to their waists. The good news is that the leaks have stopped, but I still have bracing under one ceiling. Not sure it the ceiling will make it. Going to have to get out and shovel around the foundation or the basement is going to flood when it starts melting. SIGH INFINITUM!!!!

    x_Tech…. showoff!

Gopher… I always wanted that one!

Meanwhile… I used to, long ago, crochet hats to sell, and decorate plain straw ones with ribbons and flowers and feathers for a shop…and also collect, repair and sell vintage ones….

A few years ago, when I was in Red Hat, I crocheted myself a big lacy floppy-brimmed one, out of red velvet yarn, that several ladies wanted to buy…so I made a couple more to sell.

But it’s a rare day when I can remember to actually go out the door with a hat on my head.

@TonyI also like to wear hats from places I used to work and/or play, like this one.

I have dozens of hats, mostly ball cap style. But this winter, I’ve been switching off between a Peruvian hat with ear flaps and a black British military wool cap with bill. Lately, though, I’ve gotten a couple of fedoras and actually wear them (when it’s warm enough).

@Tony Rubino Yes, one I’ve knitted myself. Looks daft, but serves a purpose.

Not big on hats. You see Tony, I have a rather small head and have trouble finding hats that fit. I do have an ear warmer band thingy that goes over my head for winter. For the summer, I found a kids cowboy hat that will keep the sun off of me.
