Technically, you can’t “grow up” to be a kid.

Frazz included himself when he said, “We all get taken by surprise now and then”. If he is not surprised now, he will be then. It’s possible to experience emotions and not show it. For example, " I hate that commenter, he is obtuse and pedantic", could be said with a straight face, and no real feeling of hatred when it comes to it.
