Boy: Do you guys have free internet? Laura: Give it a rest, cyber boy! That came out harsher than I intended. Woman: I actually applaud your restraint.

I go to Barnes and Noble, look up all the new Mysteries, hold them in my hand, read the blurb on the back and then load them in my e-reader!

I like sitting in my physical recliner in my cozy living room and downloading a new book to my Kindle without getting out of my PJs.

Books, don’t need batteries or a connection, the information is physically present, not bits in ether. And you can share the EXACT SAME information as your ancestors and your descendants. Depending upon the materials used and the way the book is stored, it can outlast anything digital.

For a long time I was paper only, then my spouse got me a Kindle Fire HDX. Now I love a mix of the two. I have certain older books on paper that I wouldn’t trade for anything, and the Fire is useful for taking a whole variety where ever I go. Also it is an honest tablet so is useful for other items like music, and light computing out and about.

I worked customer service for a small electronics company. It wasn’t nearly as stressful as over the counter retail. I actually had more than few laughs with the customers.

I see both sides. I like holding a book. I like text books and other research books where I can mark it , tag anyway I want. then there art books and the like I can set out and see the full detail that is the plus for paper. textbooks and research I have usually both paper and on my computer and kindle. paper is still faster to flip through. and where I work does not allow outside electronics. so again paper. But the pleasure of having books on my kindle for a trip to a coffee shop the lightness of the device versus several books in the backpack is hard to argue against

It must be really nice to have unlimited shelving to keep all those books. I have several hundred and no more space. I have a lot more on my Kindle and on my hard drive..It’s the content that’s important.

Bookstores and the book printing industry is no longer a growth market. It is unfortunate; however, it is reality…

I do both, real books and nook books, sometime you have to have a real book for things. Like books with pictures or diagrams, etc. ;)
