NFL policy rather reflects the immortal words of Chief Wiggins (from the TV show “The Simpsons”): “It is better to allow 1,000 guilty go free … than to chase after them.”
I thought it was “Wiggum” without the “s”. But I could be wrong.Pete is most upset that he missed a great Superb Owl because of his misplaced indignation.
Perhaps it should be the august members of the media in this office. They just can’t help but continuing their blathering about this issue. Curious their reaction if this were the saintly Peyton Manning/Broncos instead of Brady/BelichickPatriots.
So here I am in Green Bay, watching the NFC Championship. GB is up two scores with two minutes left. And suddenly I thought: “Not the Heidi Game again! Please God, not the Heidi Game!” And lo, even as I feared, it did come to pass.
Cricket’s not a bad sport at all. I started going local matches during the 1994 baseball strike so I could watch a bat hitting SOMETHING, came to really enjoy it and have remained a fan.
And I feel your pain, Steve D088. I’m a Packers fan/shareholder living near Seattle and had to listen to Seahawks fans yapping about that finish for two weeks. But only for two weeks.

Meanwhile, in other depressing sports news, the soccer season will start on time instead of the ten-year lockout I was hoping for……..

Why couldn’t the DNC have set up offices at a local Best Western back in ’72?

I heard the following joke somewhere.
Q: What’s the difference between an American football game and a test cricket match?
A: A test cricket match can last for five days. The American football game just seems like it does.
