I can remember commercials in the 1970s for a Toyota that was $3,748; I remember the amount because it was part of their jingle for a brief time. At what time did expensive cars cost $2,000?

$2,000 for a new car! Wow! once again, where did America go wrong? I think I know. It was when we started letting big shots like Rockefeller control our economy. And running our national debit up by getting into foreign wars.

I just watched a 1942 comedy in which the husband scolded his wife for paying $7 for a hat. That would have been about a quarter of a week’s pay for a working man.

Dberry: Where did America go wrong? When Americans began believing Marxist propaganda that Rockefeller controlled the economy and that it is capitalist nations that are the warmongers, despite the entire history of the 19th and 20th Centuries to prove otherwise. Did you pick up this stuff in college or from elderly relatives from the old country?

You also have to remember that minimum wage started at 25 cents an hour.

In 1976, I bought a new Datsun pickup for $3000.00. Then in 1977 I bought a new Chevy Silverado for $3500.00 That was the last new car I ever bought.
