Sounds right up the ally of Alfred Yankovic.

No head banging music around sharp medical tools.

Hmmm this could be Minnesota, instead of Canada. The older people here really love their Polka…Polka Dances, Polka Bands, Polka Masses (I kid you not)…it’s a tradition. LOL

I don’t think I would spend money on buying a polka album, but polka is fun music to listen to.

Our dentist has movies playing (with subtitles) with the monitor hung high on the wall to make it easier to see. The only downfall is that I want to stay longer to watch more of the movie.

It was your idea John. I don’t think music would relax me during a cleaning. Going to the dentist is not on top things of my favorites. Actually it’s low on the totem pole.

You (and gmu) know what it is, you’re just making a sad attempt at an “old” joke. If you actually didn’t know, you wouldn’t ask, you would just google it.

There is more to polka than weird Al Yankovic. My personal favorite is Alex Meixner, available for viewing on YouTube.

Actually “Weird Al” Yankovic is the comic rock musician. Frank Yankovic was the American Polka King (I think he was Al’s uncle or cousin).

The trick is you don’t own the recording — just the vinyl, magnetic tape or plastic disc it’s recorded on. Nobody worried too much when you could only record inferior tape copies, but when we started producing near-perfect digital copies the recording industry smelled a lost revenue stream and screamed bloody murder!

I’m allergic to lidocaine so my dentist used to use sound instead. He would put electrodes on my gums and give me the volume control. That is was what I thought was going on here at first glance. Fortunately they invented some new anesthetics and I don’t have to do that anymore.
