If she’s doing the same work for $250 a week, doesn’t it make sense to fire the father and save $500?

In some other country perhaps. This might have been relevant 40 years ago, but the EEOC exists for a reason. I was a CFO for 35 years and most companies today actively seek to promote women. What do you think the whole DIVERSITY epidemic is about?

True. My wife was told flat out that the men where she works get paid more because they have families to support.

They must work for Democrats. This is a myth, naught but a lie.

I don’t think the old Busch honcho was a democrat, yet he paid Francine Katz less than half the salary as her male predecessor. She worked for the company for 14yrs and was also excluded from guy based corporate outings. Even though it is illegal to discriminate based on gender, it still happens every day. We have made some progress. Now instead of making half of what a guy makes, we make 70c for every dollar a guy gets.

Not a myth at all, women who work for Obama and Hillary earns substantially less than men. Yet they are the ones who proclaim that there is a war on women.

Statistics are still clear. Women earn less than men for the same job. This is in big corporations, not government.

And those in these comments who think this information is old and not up to date have their heads in the sand.

Studies have shown a lot of women have poor bargaining skills and when a job is not a union job with set wages, a woman will sell herself a lot cheaper than a man applying for the same job.

You know, I never worked a day in my life at a place that paid women less for the same or similar jobs. And I’ve been retired for a few years so my experience goes back four decades plus

In the early days of my life with the nasty fast food jobs, they got the same wage but the clean work. They worked the register in the air conditioned part of the store and I worked at the fryers hoisting 50 pound blobs of shortening and emptying enormous grease pots and 70 pound boxes of dripping raw chicken. Had to buy my clothes at the thrift store as two or three wears would ruin almost any shirt of trousers for anything but compost or greasing car axles.

When I got a real career, I never once saw a woman get paid less for the same job ever if she had the same skill set and experience as the men.

I know sexism and unequal stuff does exist but I don’t think it’s near as bad these days as portrayed.
