Alice: Yay! A new shoebox diorama! Petey: It's my science project on Pollen. Alice: Who's the little guy with a tissue? Petey: He's got pollen allergies. These packing peanuts represent the pollen. Now I'll stuff them in. Alice: Boy. I'll bet he sneezes really loud! Petey: When you sneeze, the pollen comes out your nose at the speed of sound. That's why it's so loud.

An off topic comment; the image for the Zazzle widget on the right doesn’t load. When you click on the little blue question mark you get a message that says-
“Zazzle API Error 4263: Image failed to upload: http://cdn.svcs.c2.uclick.com/c2/55bf9ac03110012d63bd00163e41dd5b?mime=gif Please check that the path and image name are correct and have been properly URL encoded. Also, make sure you have declared your domains. See more API documentation.”
And when you click on the first link you get a large image of today’s strip, higher res than the one on this page. Is that higher res image usually available by some link on this page that I’ve never noticed?

Anyone out there know? The high-res strip is great!

Richard:
Your link gave me the extra-large (gi-normous) comic (184kb), but I have no idea where I’d find that link on the gocomics page.
(Maybe it’s a genius/subscriber-only feature?)
The “view larger” magnifying glass icon in the upper right of each day’s strip always works for me. (Regular view = 63kb, Larger = 146kb) And the “buy this strip as a gift” link works as well, but goes to the “regular view” version (63kb) of the day’s offering.
Hope that’s of some help, and thanks for your work.

Richard I don’t see what you’re seeing–if i click the comic itself it enlarges but the pixel res is no better. When I click the “get a print” comic link I get an order page but that comic won’t enlarge. Sorry I’m no help–love the comic as always!

@ richardcthompson,
This “Zazzle widget” thing must be an ad. I use Firefox with adblock plus and never see any ads.
That link you posted which leads to a very nice high res version of the comic is much better than the “enlarge” option we get. I wish that the “enlarge” option would do that instead of just making the comic larger without a higher res.
I know that comics.com will show a higher res image when you use the “enlarge” option on that site.

“Zazzle” is the online business where I bought U.S. postage with my son’s photo on the stamps (yes - legal for the mail and fun to send when corresponding with friends and relatives), so yes, it would be an ad. I also have Firefox and don’t see “Zazzle”. For those with Firefox, there is an excellent add-on called “Image Zoom” which not only gives right-click custom enlargement of any image, including the comics, but also gives rotation functionality to images.

Hi Richard,
This is my all time favorite strip. I found the high rez image by clicking on the zazzle ad, then click on one of the items to purchase, like one of the tee shirts. Above the shirt pic are three buttons, click on the “Design” button. Hold your mouse over one of the strip panels, the high rez image appears on the right. Click on one of the panels, the high rez image gets bigger. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Petey, that explains the very loud sneezes I have every morning this time of year! I knew about the pollen, but not why the sneeze was so LOUD – ha!
