Calders don’t break. They are giant steel curvy sculptures. They go BONG when struck (the ball then bounces off in a crazy direction).

Alexander Sandy Calder was a Merkin sculptor. He made a lot of large steel sculptures as @nitromicro said, along with “mobiles” and other stuff.
