go hungry,
watch your mom get beat up and go through man after man,
visit your dad in prison your whole life,
not know who his dad REALLY is.,..
life without cable and oftentimes no home phone…
eat rice and sugar for breakfast…
mayo sandwiches,
ketchup sandwiches…
ride the bus and the only people you know to own a car are the drug dealers and pimps…
go to bed hungry and wake up looking forward the the stale school lunches…
not have toilet paper until the 1st of the month(when the welfare check comes)…
eat government cheese, milk or peanut butter.

I really can go on but it’s sorta depressing and melancholy at the same time….
I used to pay for government cheese all the time when I was in college. That was some of the best cheese to make macaroni and cheese with. Much better than velveeta.

Chikuku - not weeping or wailing…it was hard going without back then especially when my mom COULD help it…
Just saying, this kid Jason knows NOTHING of the hood or the life.
