As a radio DJ, I can attest to the fact that there are a lot of talentless people making records these days. More than in previous times. I think that is exactly what our parents would have said, too.
How could anyone say Stevie’s “Landslide” is not great music and beautifully sung? I guess it’s each to his own taste. Like Dylan, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash and a host of others with “different” sounding voices, both Stevie and Rod Stewart have sold multiple millions of records because people value them. Ah, well. What’s the point of arguing? We like what we like.
