So, the key question is… where is a small-time operator like Jimmy Choo Shooz going to get the extra resources he needs to do the job? I’ll give you one guess on that question.
Sam the Man with the deformed handSure knew this Dicky boy wellThe talk of all this choo choo gold Would really ring his bellNothing like a massive spike In talks with every snitchTo prove to Tracy fast and hastyCharlie’ll have a hitchSam just grinned and laughed withinHe knew he pegged it rightGood to know that cup of JoeWould help him through the night.
.
Not for nothing but Mike and Joe aren’t giving me much to work with these days. Come on guys, give a dude a break and pick things up! LOL!
Well, the “small South American country” is presumably sending their gold somewhere safe for a while. Fort Knox is reputedly as safe a place as any, as long as it makes it there in the first place.
Good morning Tracy fans. The MCU is on the lookout for potential train robbers._________@Vista Bill: you’re either up early or staying up late. It’s 1:28am EST in Chattanooga TN USA._________Be well my friends.
You have to laugh at the stories aobut Fort Knox that pop up. For example, the tabloid The Globe claimed in 1981 that 300 truckloads of gold were simply driven away. ( http://www.knology.net/~bilrum/811215_FtKnoxGold_globe.jpg )
But seriously given how much technology seems to be above ours (Fusion power is possible for example) Fort Knox in Tracyworld is likely not as safe as in our world.
Today continues to lay the track and establish background and context. Team Tracy is holding back, it seems, until unleashing a maelstrom of action at a future point. The tension is building….Tenser, said the Tensor. Tension, apprehension, and dissension have begun.
Stilldamatt, in his chair he satready Tracy’s daily stripthe plodding pace contorted his facewhenever will Choo Shooz slip?Joe and Mike will set it rightbring the story full to lightstilldamatt, looks forward to thatgiving fodder to his trackHurry up you two, he’s got work to doand I cant ALWAYS pick up his slack!
@cockerham2: thanks for posting the Daily Planet photo.__________@tsull2121: nice poem. You are one of our poets laureates.__________Be happy and healthy everyone.
Dick Tracy mentioned again on page 8A of USA TODAY, with the article stating that using the Apple watch speaker for making phone calls is "not a great experience. "
Also, complaints about “nothing happening” in the strip rile me because not enough patience is exhibited, or respect given to pacing, dramatic balance, and creators’ whim. Do you think Gould was told that his storylines had to be a certain timeframe long?
I read today’s stories like I did in the 70s; I read what I’m given, live my life, then have that small surge of excitement the next morning when I can do it again, now on the computer- then in the newspapers. I’m grateful that the quality has surged and there’s always another strip the next day.
Finally, I must tip my cap to you folks who go beyond the CA of fandom; whether poetry, dissertations, old-time photos and facts; you all make this experience much richerď
In the last several months, the coloring on the daily strips here at Go Comics has been really good. Today, though, I have to wonder why they chose to give Tracy chocolate colored skin in panel 2. I suppose his face is shaded by his hat, but I still think it looks a bit odd.
A wanna be just cannot seeHe’s not the slightest bit funnyHe’s sure to bring up distant pastHis one track mind doth surely lastHe cannot join the current ageOr flip the switch or turn the pageI feel for him this deflated balloonHe’ll always dress in sickening Maroon!
I couldn’t help myself – I printed out a copy of today’s strip on paper so I could examine the colors with my loupe. Sam’s skin tone is magenta and yellow with a very, very scattered pin point of black. Tracy’s in panel two is magenta, yellow and black almost equally, which is why we are seeing it looking different. I called it “chocolate” – that may have been a slight overstatement. Gweedo is calling it “gray”Here’s something else interesting about the art – Tracy’s eye looks very different at Comics Kingdom, because the colorist chose a different shape for the white part, (and different skin tone too) and it looks different still in plain B&W, such as at Houston Chronicle, where there is no shape of white, because there is no color, which is how Joe drew it originally. In any case, Tracy looks very cool in this piece of art, no question, regardless of color variations!
@McPheeters: great bio. I sent you a message using the messenger app. _________@Willy007: thanks for the excellent info today._________Be well my friends.
You don’t know slow. Just read a week of “Alley Oop” and you will know slow.I hope you realize that my comments were that the pace of this story is just fine. I was answering another couple of folks who were complaining of slowness. I don’t think it’s slow, I was saying that there has been much revealed in just 4 day’s time.
@Gweedo:After all the big fuss of having it “leaked to the press”, the real dumb bad guys will take the bait and be rounded up; …
It would be great if you could just round up bad guys like that, but they won’t all show up. As Sam says, they haven’t got the brains or the resources. Jimmy Choo Shooz seems to have a plan and he somehow has the money to carry it out.

To Hal69 (… From Yesterday)
According to Wikipedia, “The Taking of Pelham One Two Three” was based on a novel by Morton Freedgood.
In addition to the two theatrical films, it was also adapted into a made-for-TV movie in 1998.
Most seem to prefer the 1974 version with Walter Matthau, which holds a whopping 100% Positive score on the “Rotten Tomatoes” web site.
