Sure we’re retired, that’s why I’m up typing this instead of being in bed like everybody else on our block. And Husband is over there on his computer looking at a video of big trucks,
@TonyRetired in the sense that we are both disabled and currently fighting for my benefits and a back payment owed to us. Paul’s disability cheques have finally started coming in.
Not even close. The world has changed and being on the lower rung of the blue collar ladder, we will work till we die and can’t count on SS when we get to that point. Saving everything we can to hopefully be able to send little man to a good college. He’s smart so if we are lucky, he may get some scholarships. In my dreams he has a good job, nice house and family with a MIL apartment. ;-)
I’m not sure if there is a hint of sarcasm in your last sentence. I’ve tried many jobs and worked hard many times. But yes I’m very thankful for that “big honkin’ safety measure”.
Not retired. Heading to San Antonio tomorrow for meetings and CEUs (continuing education units) required for my job. Home on Saturday night and back to work on Monday.
Hubby is retired as of this Friday coming up. From the DOC. 31 years. Me, I could have retired at age 55, I like my job very much, so will stick around for awhile.

I’ve tried that work thing; it didn’t work for me. Fortunately for me that, in this society, if you can’t play the game there are safety measures.
