    One thing that surprises me is the baggy, saggy clothes these kids are wearing. And we thought this was a modern day thing.

    I don’t know. Skippy also wears similar baggy clothes, yet I assumed he came from a well-to-do family. In this strip, I assumed the lady in the chair (who has a maid) is his mother:

    It may have been the custom to buy large clothes for the kids to grow into as well as hand me downs.

    Kids in those days (I knew them) like those of today tended to dress like their peers. Sadly, most of their peers were what we PC people today refer to as ‘lower income’…
