Not really, considering that the cartoonist’s character was stolen by the company that produces Skippy peanut butter and he was railroaded into being declared insane, and the corporation involved has continued legally harassing his children down to this day. Nothing much has changed.
I have a novel by Percy Crosby, based on his characters. It’s the second one, SOOKY. Skippy’s friend dies, and he shakes his fist skyward and shouting “Damn ye!” at heaven. Crosby knew about the dark side.
