I’m not sure I understand all this. The 1928 election was between Hoover and Smith. The cartoonist here uses the word ‘bominate’ in place of ‘nominate’ and it brings to my mind the word ‘abomination.’ Now he refers to the Republican bosses. Is Crosby calling Hoover an abomination?
