Moving pretty fast, and passing pretty dang close to Earth, if you’re only going to be able to see it one night. Hale-Bopp was visible for weeks.
Halley’s famous because it was the first time one came on schedule as predicted by science. The last pass was weak. I liked Hyakutake.
