Female Teacher: ¡Pobre Pablo! Hoy está enfermo. Female Teacher: Can you tell me what I just said, Cruz? Cruz: Of course! Cruz: But can you repeat it in english?
i wish our spanish teacher was that good looking, she was about a hundred years old and barely able to walk to the chalk board
(yes i said chalk board, that was wayyyyy before those dry erase things they have now)
Hey Carlos! The teacher is consistently drawn in a less cartoony style than the other characters. Might she be based on a real person? A girlfriend or sister? If it’s the latter rather than the former, is she single?
Trapper, it’s established as part of Baldo’s character that he’s not very GOOD at speaking Spanish, much to his Papi’s dismay.
I remember a storyline a while back where he had to act as translator for a new student at his school who spoke ONLY Spanish, and his difficulties were the source of much humor.
I really don’t give an Ano de Raton (that’s Spanish for “Year of the Rat”). I generally don’t bother hunting up accented characters, unless I’m posting longer pieces of text.
I had little doubt that you’d jump on it, though. You didn’t disappoint.
By the way, by “accented characters” I wasn’t referring to, say, Tia Carmen or Papi. :-)

I’ve forgetten her name, but that teacher’s always nice to see. She’s muy caliente! It’s no wonder Cruz can’t pay attention to his lessons.

It’s been 38 years since I studied Spanish, and even I was able to understand what she said.
