purposeful design, it would appear. cantilever construction (no support beams for the overhang)

I aquired this bit of architectural jargon from the 50’s playing with “Kenner’s girder and panel building set” the best toy I ever owned

I apologize for a bit of personal blather, but at least I didn’t subject you to a blow by blow description……uh…. I mean ‘vivid’ description of every job I ever had and every person i ever met, or every meal I ever enjoyed or…….

Montanalady: I’m sure there are very few people who want to experience a nearby earthquake. With the exception, I suppose, of the odd earthquake chaser.

Well, seismologists want to experience them, but probably not first-hand.

I was little in the Loma Prieta 89 earthquake, I thought it was fun. I don’t know if I would want to go through an earthquake again, especially with the ones we have seen around the world, but I would definitely want to live through one again.
