Wouldn’t have mattered how Kirbee wrapped the rope. If she grabs the end to keep it from ripping loose, she’s either going to strangle or choke herself to death. If it had been around her waist, the weight would pull her straight down the shaft.
The Triangle Is Complete! No, not the circle. The Triangle. The fire triangle. Oxygen, fuel and sufficient heat for the fuel to reach its ignition point. Too bad they don’t have the means to remove any one of the three.I’m still going with Kirbee’s panic allowing her to save the day (and our heroes).
I can tell Kirbee is falling and is Holly falling too?It must be getting quite hot. If they fall back down, aren’t they going to die? I’ll have to wait till other good people that know more about the technics of fire!
I think Firbee lost the rope. And that is why she fell backwards and hit her head. But who, or what, is keeping tension on the rope? Could the dittos have mutated into a more tangible entity? Well, we didn’t get answers today, maybe later. It is a brand new month. Remember to vote for Endtown and Doc Rat at TopWebComics.

Um Kirbee is not falling. She has mad a perfect triangle to.Back pressed against one wall and her feet against the other..The rope still seems to be around her neck.So Holly and Chick are not falling..Now would be a great time for Jim to lend a hand. But he can’t lift a finger.
Everybody needs to get the heck out of there. The question is whether Kirbee is able to get through the hole without compromising her ability to handle the load or whether Holly and Chic can climb up and then up the rope, through the hole and pull Kirbee in.I just had a horrible thought. What if a heroic sacrifice is part of the plot? Hope not, I like this ditzy Reptilian.
Ok. Look closely at panel 4. That hexagonal shape is the hole that Kirbee was looking through in Monday’s strip. Her feet are braced against the wall right below the hole, and her back is smashed against the opposite wall. The rope is hanging down behind her back and she can’t move because of the combination of down-rushing air, and the weight of Holly and Chick pulling down on her shoulders.Kirbee isn’t falling, but she is trapped. She can’t shift her weight to go head first through the hole, and she’s positioned wrong for trying to shimmy either up OR down as long as Holly keeps holding on to the rope. At the moment, she has two options. Cook. Or lose her grip on the wall, slip and fall into the flames.
Think of this folks…..Suddenly Jim’s jaws lock on Kirbee’s hand as she reaches for the hole.(It would be her luck!)(Remember Jim does not have fingers to grab with)
Aaron Neathery has a way of telling us the characters are surely going to die, and then saving them at the last moment. In narrative study, this roller-coaster emotional manipulation is called “Neatherization”.
This is workable, Holly needs to climb with all of her speed, before the chute becomes a toaster. Kirbee has the rope wedged between her back and the wall right now, judging from the previous panels there is more than enough room for Holly to pass between Kirbee’s feet & thru the hole- and turn to lend a hand in the process. It’s time to move fast or become a crispy critter!
I like Kirbee. Right now I don’t like Sarah Battle. And with Jim probably not going to be a continuing traveling companion. .I would like o see Kirbee as part of the continuing story..I am loving the story and the artwork Aaron.Hoping the best for you.
Given the nature of reality in “Endtown,” a death we see in one reality could be followed by a survival we also see in another. With or without Da Vinci chewing gum.

I’m thinking all three of them wind up wedged halfway up / down the shaft.“Fire! I’ll take you to burn! Fire! I’ll take you to learn!”

They are not falling, but they are hanging out in the chimney and there’s a monster of a fire in the fireplace. ;-)
